BBQ ChickenMy friend suggested to grab something quick before Dodger’s game, and he ask if I ever had the BBQ Chicken before.. I was horrified when he mention BBQ Chicken, b/c I heard so much bad review about the one in Irvine, it’s only 2 1/2 stars to be exact on Yelp. The recent hype of KyoChon did make me a little bit curious about those Korean style friend chicken, so I agree to give it a chance. The word “fried” usually scared me off, but he told me this one is special, b/c it’s made w/ EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil). It’s suppose to be healthy, plus they have chain stores in 37 countries already. ![]() BBQ Chicken Store Front It took us awhile to figure out what we wanted b/c the menu is so hard to read and it look like everything is lunch special, but they don’t serve lunch special after 3pm. I was very confuse and not sure how to order, then the lady mention we need to order a la cart. >_< Whatever, the menu is a bad design, b/c most of the items are stated as “Lunch Special”. Since it’s just two of us, we agree to do the half original fried chicken and the one order of red hot drumsticks. ![]() ![]() ![]() I also like their pickled radishes, if we weren’t in rush, I would ask for more. =9 The fried chicken itself is really good, crispy, juicy and not salty like most places. It was a pleasant surprised since it was better than my expectation, and the chicken wasn’t greasy at all. I guess it has to do w/ the EVOO they used. I like the original chicken a lot, but not the red hot spicy chicken. The red hot spicy chicken is basically original fried chicken covered with traditional Korean red hot sauce. Ones that used on spicy rice cake… it was SPICY!! My mouth was on fire afterward, I have pretty high tolerance with spicy food, but this one was way too spicy for me. Plus the spicy sauce was a bit too sweet for me. Trust me, stick with the original for the first time and if you do come back again, then you can order something else.

Eh … I live right by here!
I had it the once before I went pesce .. Idk, it sounds kind of interesting now.
It’s better than most fried chicken out there.. not sure if it’s better than kyochon chicken. And you are right next to the place. =)
